Abstract

Multiple chiral doublet bands with two different quasiparticle configurations have been identified in the negative-parity band structure of the 104Rh nucleus. Besides the previously reported chiral doublet, which belongs to the π(1g9/2)1⊗ν(1h11/2)1 configuration, a new chiral-candidate band pair has been observed. Comparison of the experimental data with detailed theoretical calculations suggests that the newly observed band pair is also a chiral doublet based on the π(1g9/2)1 ⊗ν(1g7/2)2(1h11/2)1 configuration.
