Abstract

This paper introduces the design method of low sidelobe beamscanning based on time-modulated e metasurface. The time modulation technology is combined with the digital metasurface, and the amplitude and phase modulation of the metasurface units can thus be realized on the first harmonic component of the RF signal by controlling the coding distribution and the real-time periodic coding sequences through the optimization algorithm. The simulation results show that, through using the amplitude and phase weighted methods with time modulation, the sidelobe level can be supressed to -40 dB for scanning beams at different angles.
