Abstract

The lattice vibration spectra of potassium lithium niobate (KLN) single crystals have been studied using Raman spectroscopy. The characteristic Raman peak due to the bend vibration mode of the [NbO6]7- octahedra is split into three peaks as the Li ion content of the KLN crystal is increased, supporting that the vibration modes of the octahedrons are slightly perturbed by the bend vibration mode of Li in C-site.
