Abstract

Hybrid framework with both case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning is implemented. Its knowledge base contains structural and functional features of various cases of the objective product in an object-oriented way. An improved algorithm for computing the nearest matching of the required functional features with stored cases is also presented. The system has been used for designing mobile phones.
