Abstract

Vanadium oxide inverse opal structures were fabricated by electrochemical deposition into self-assembled colloidal crystal templates and electrochromic performance was measured from the resulting macroporous vanadium oxide films. The periodic inverse opal structure resulted in an increased switching speed and a higher coloration contrast compared to similarly fabricated unstructured vanadium oxide films.
