Abstract
A novel titanosilicate with the CDO (Cylindrically Double Saw-Edged Zeolite One) structure, Ti-CDS-1, has been hydrothermally synthesized by using tetrabutylorthotitanate (TBOT) as a Ti source, fumed silica as a Si source, and tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH) as a template. The samples were characterized by various techniques such as XRD, SEM, UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopies. Ti-CDS-1 showed a morphology of thin plate crystals comparable to siliceous CDS-1. Ti-CDS-1 contained Ti species mainly in the framework in addition to a small part of octahedral extraframework Ti on exterior crystal surfaces. The extraframework Ti species could be removed selectively by an acid treatment.
