Abstract

We present an all-fiber self-starting high-energy soliton laser based on a chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG). The oscillator is mode-locked by nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR). As the net dispersion is greatly increased by the CFBG, the pulse energy can be increased correspondingly. The single pulse energy is 4.8 nJ, and the pulse duration is 4.4 ps with a repetition rate of 16.6 MHz.
