High-average-power femtosecond fiber self-similar amplification

Abstract

We realized a ytterbium-doped fiber self-similar amplification system emitting 50 fs pulses at an average power of 50 W, and made experimental comparisons of chirped-pulse and self-similar amplification at the same repetition rate.
