Abstract

A study was performed on the effective masses of electrons and forbidden transition in In1-xGaxAs/InP quantum wells. A fourier transform spectrometer was used to record the magneto-optical absorption spectra for these quantum wells with compressive strain. Two types of forbidden transitions were identified, one in the low magnetic field and the other in high magnetic field.
