Abstract
The species Madasumma coomani was first described by Chopard in 1939, based on specimens collected in Vietnam. Then it was moved to the genus Calyptotrypus by Chopard in 1968. In 2002, Gorochov established the genus Idiotrella and suspected that that this species might belong to it, based on the features of the male genitalia. This study photographed the male genitalia of the holotype, supporting the classification by Gorochov. Furthermore, we present a new record of this species in China. We provided features of the male metanotal gland, anal plate and forewing venation for the first time. We also present living photographs of the male, female and nymph.
