Abstract

We decorated double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) with ruthenium (Ru) nanoparticles with a simple chemical method. The Ru nanoparticles are uniformly coated onto the surface of the DWCNTs. The Ru nanoparticle coated DWCNTs showed high emission current density and good emission stability. The enhanced emission properties are attributed to increased density of emission sites and multi-stage effect.
