Abstract

FeCl3-catalyzed diastereospecific synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[a]acridin-5(6H)-ones from enaminones was described. Single diastereoisomers were obtained in good to excellent yields. Two C−C bonds and three contiguous stereogenic centers were formed.
