Abstract
A fast method under an energy balance principle is proposed in order to achieve efficient content-aware image resizing. It calculates the pixel energy by using the weighted sum of the horizontal and vertical gradient energy in various low-resolution images, then selects some less important columns according to the column energy, adjusts their width based on the principle of energy balance, and gets the content-aware image resizing results. Experimental results show that the proposed method is fast and can protect the key contents and the main structures in the images effectively.
