Abstract
Y1.34Gd0.60Eu0.06O3 nanopowders with high sinterability were prepared via a complex co-precipitation method. The nanopowder obtained has an average particle size of 30-40 nm, weakly agglomerate after calcining at 850°C for 2 h. After dry-pressed and isostatic pressed at 200 MPa, the green body can be sintered to transparency at 1800°C for 6 h. The as-sintered transparent ceramics show intense red luminescence at 610 nm under 250 nm UV excitation, corresponding to 5D0-7F2 transition of Eu3+ ion.
