Abstract

NO removal from simulating flue gas with aqueous triethylenetetraminecobalt solution was experimentally studied in a packed column. The NO removal capability of different absorbents and the influence of temperature and oxygen volume fraction on the NO removal efficiency were investigated. The experimental results indicate that the NO removal capability of triethylenetetraminecobalt solution is higher than that of Fe2+-EDTA (ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid ) solution in the absence of oxygen. The volume fraction of oxygen existing in the gas phase has important effect on the NO removal. The higher the oxygen volume fraction is, the higher the NO removal efficiency will be. The temperature is a very important operating condition for the NO removal. In the presence of oxygen, the optimal temperature is 50°C.
