Abstract

The quantum variances of the output signal, idler beam and superposed modes of a narrowband nondegenerate optical parametric amplifier (NOPA) were computed. Results show that the variance of the quadrature amplitude-component of one of the output superposed mode is equal to that of the phase-component of other superposed modes and vice versa. Also, the degree of quantum correlation between the output signal and idler beams can be inferred from the fluctuation spectrum of the quadrature-phase amplitudes of the output superposed modes.
