Abstract

Universal energy level alignment at a molecule-doped conjugated polymer/electrode interface that yields a constant thickness-independent displacement away from the original behavior of the pristine polymer is found to be controlled by the two combined processes: integer charge transfer and image charge-induced double step dipole. Such behavior is expected to hold for all low to intermediate level doped organic semiconductor systems.
