Abstract
This work is focused on the transmission of linearly polarized (LP) 01 and LP 02 modes over a solid-core photonic crystal fibre (PCF) with the length of 100 μm. The performance of LP 01 and LP 02 modes is evaluated in terms of relative powers and spatial profiles. Moreover, optimization of the wavelengths and the spacing size between the air holes (pitch) is carried out. The main contribution of this work is to design a solid-core PCF for the transmission of LP 01 and LP 02 modes through it. The proposed PCF can be used for spatial division multiplexing as well as for short-haul communication purposes.
