Abstract

Electric and magnetic coupling of two split-ring resonators (2SRRs) are numerically studied. Extinction cross section of 2SRRs is computed by Finite-differential time domain (FDTD). It is shown that the two coupling resonant frequencies have large redshift and slight blueshift with decreasing the separation of 2SRRs, respectively. Such phenomenon is explained by dynamic electric dipole theory.
