Abstract

A special purpose cracking catalyst, RMI, tailored for the MIP process, a new FCC process for maximizing iso-paraffin in cracked naphtha, was developed to give full play to MIP potential. An optimized combination of Y zeolites, a modified matrix, and a modified ZRP selective zeolites with well behavior of olefins aromatization were adopted in the formulation of RMI catalyst for strengthening the catalytic cracking reactions in two reaction zones of MIP. As for the cracking of paraffin base feedstock, the total liquid yield increased by 0.66% and the olefin content of the cracked naphtha dropped by 3.29% with the MON and RON kept unchanged in comparison with conventional FCC catalysts. The advantages and characteristics of MIP process could be carried forward using the RMI catalyst.
