Abstract

The aim of this paper is to detect impact of spatial resolution of remotely sensed data on land cover characteristics reflected by them. NOAA/AVHRR NDVI images with 1km, 4km and 8km were employed to described land cover pattern, taken the west of IGBP's Northeast China Transect (NECT) as study area. The spatial patterns of regional land cover revealed by 3 images are consistent, but boundary, shape, complexity and number of land cover type patches are different greatly.
