Descendants of a Blurry - Eyed Dragon": A Lacanian Analysis of the Post - Maoist Structuration of Chineseness

Abstract

"Descendants of the Dragon" (Long de chuanren) has become one of the most popular songs within the Sinophone world since the early 1980s.It can he, however, also regarded as one of the representative texts through which one can indeed glimpse the profound construction of Chineseness in the post - Maoist mainland China.Utilizing theoretical tools provided by Jacques Lacan and Slavoj this paper offers detailed textual analyses as well as psycho - analyses of " Descendants of the Dragon" , with the goal of furthering the contemporary critical examination of Chineseness.
