Abstract

Cryohydrology examines the hydrological processes, impacts, and interactions involving cryospheric elements (Ding et al., Front Earth Sci 8:1–12, 2020). A defining characteristic of cryohydrology is the storage of water in its solid phase and its subsequent release as a liquid. This discipline focuses on the interconversion between ice and water and its implications for both resources and the environment.
