Abstract
The limited active sites and poor inherent conductivity of redox-active polyimide (PI) severely hinder its application for electrochemical deionization. To overcome these limitations, it was demonstrated that a quinone-containing PI with dual redox-active moieties exhibited a high Na+ removal capacity of 63.9 mg g−1 and robust regenerative stability, and this strategy can be used for the design of polymeric desalination electrodes.
