Abstract

In this paper, we present a spatial version of the Holling-type II predation-diffusion model which contains external periodic forcing and constant harvest rate on prey, noise on predator. From the numerical results, we know that external periodic forcing can induce instability and enhance the oscillation of the species density. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the spatially extended system exhibit a resonant patterns and frequency-locking phenomena. Our results show that external periodic forcing, noise and harvest play a prominent role in the predation-diffusion model.
