Abstract

Competition mathematics was introduced to China in 1956, and was developed as a complement and enhancement for in-class instruction. This chapter first provides an introduction to the organization, the training system and learning materials, and then discusses the influence of competition mathematics on students’ mathematical ability as well as the existing problems of competition-oriented education in China.
