Abstract

Gupta [J. Appl. Phys. 102, 056106 (2007)] investigated vacuum electron acceleration by a short laser beam in the presence of a long-wavelength electromagnetic wave. However, we consider that their simulation results to be questionable. We have investigated their simulation in detail and present our own simulation results, which do not match the good acceleration as theirs given in the original paper.
