Abstract

In view of study on natural disaster loss assessment of coastal cities in china and oversea, the methods of natural disaster loss assessment are discussed. This paper analyzes the problems about current loss classification methods, such as how to effectively assess secondery disaster loss and indirect loss, and build up coastal city natural disaster loss classification system from social loss and economic loss. On the basis of coastal city natural disaster loss classification system, this paper puts forward the loss assessment models for human loss, direct loss and indirect loss. Finally, some suggestions and orientations for research are presented for future.
