Abstract

Nano-sized zirconia powders prepared by coprecipitation are characterized with respect to their chemical, structural and physical properties. Chemical compositions were determined by X-ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy for the main components and by Atomic Spectroscopy for the impurities. Physical characterization of the zirconia powders, including their primary particle (crystallite) size, size distribution, agglomerate size and size distribution, porosity and pore size distribution, as a function of calcination temperature, is presented and discussed.
