Abstract

An exact integral solution of Maxwell equation for uniform plasmas was studied. In ultrashort pulse case, the 1-D laser pulse evolution expression was obtained by means of the integral equation. The formula of diffraction length shows that the peak power comes down fast with the higher of plasma frequency and the shorter of pulse width, and the pulse width changes violently.
