Abstract

Transporting hybrid coded video over wireless channel is very challenging due to time-varying channel conditions and vulnerable nature of hybrid coded video for packet loss. In this paper, we introduce a novel rapid error recovery algorithm to achieve high efficiency and low delay performance. Video proxy server at the base station is designed to enhance the performance of our error recovery algorithm. State-of-the-art H.264 is used as source encoder. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this architecture.
