Abstract

An approach for minimum insertion loss bandpass filter design based on the combination of the equivalent circuit model and the physical layout is proposed in this paper. The main advantage of the proposed method is that the initial values of the layout can be directly carried out from the equivalent circuit parameters which can be determined under the condition of zero network loss by solving transmission coefficient function. The proposed technique is very useful for optimal filter design when its center frequency and bandwidth are known. Example of a two-:lambda;/2 resonators bandpass filter is designed by using the proposed technique and good agreement is obtained between simulated and measured results.
