Abstract

Ultra-Wideband (UWB) is a promising technology for short range wireless communication and precise ranging. In this paper, we first briefly review different approaches of UWB technique, and then concentrate on impulse radios. Various impulse UWB transceiver circuits and systems for different applications such as WPAN, WSN and WBAN are presented. Some recently developed pulse-based UWB radios are also introduced for specified applications. The advance of impulse radio is concluded and the future work is illuminated.
