A viewpoint on the contents and methods of intervention on autistic children

Abstract

Aim: Most children with autism have poor prognosis, but there are still some successful cases. The aim of the paper is to investigate the contents and methods of intervention on autistic children. Methods: The studies about the intervention on autistic children were gathered and analyzed, which were combined with the clinical experiences to investigate the contents and methods of effective intervention for autism children. Results: Non-speech communication behavior, joint attention and social affect communication of autistic children were the necessary parts of intervention plan. Symbol games also played a very important role in intervention on autistic children. Conclusion: According to the studies about autistic children, especially for successful intervention cases, autistic children need total and intense intervention. The intervention plan cannot be only limited to train the speech behavior of autistic children. Training about non-speech communication behavior, joint attention and social affect communication of autistic children will help them develop better.
