Abstract

A novel compact model based on 2-π architecture for millimeter wave circuits on-chip transformer is presented. The model is validated through experimental data of IBM 130-nm RF-CMOS transformer. A MATLAB program has been developed to implement the modeling technique using semi-analytical extraction method which is convenient to calculate the particular parameters. The model accuracy is demonstrated by comparing simulated and measured S-parameters. Excellent agreement has been obtained up to 67 GHz.
