Abstract

There have been a number of studies combining blockchain with reputation in recent years. However, most of these efforts have had some issues with security. In this paper, we propose a secret sharing reputation-based protocol for permissioned blockchains. In our protocol, node's reputation is judged by its behavior including providing service, participating in the creation of block and so on. Nodes with most reputation form a committee to propose the next block. We present a security analysis, and we demonstrate that our protocol resists against a set of known attacks in the blockchain network. A series of simulations demonstrate the performance of our reputation-based protocol.
