Abstract

A method for the synthesis of highly dispersive and catalytically active platinum nanoparticles confined in mesoporous zirconia was presented. Sucrose molecules were used as both the dispersive medium and reducing agent for PtCl62-. The low temperature and reproducible oxidation of CO and the high conversion of CO + NO into CO2 + N2 was achieved.
