Abstract

The complete noise equivalent circuit models for PIN and HEMT devices are presented. The analysis and calculation for 2.5Gb/s PIN-HEMT optical receiver noise and sensitivity are made. In addition, the influence of flow-frequency flicker noise on the sensitivity penalty is discussed. The measured results of optical receiver noise and its simulated results have a better agreement.
