Abstract
[Purpose/Significance] Academic data plays an important role in scientific dissemination and knowledge sharing. At the same time, academic data disseminate with a very complex movement in scholarly communication. The systematic exploration of the movement process, mechanism and impact factors of academic data in scholarly communication is of great importance to the science community to understand the importance of scholarly communication and knowledge evolution. [Method/Process] By integrating scientific information exchange theory and scholarly communication system theory, a model for modern scholarly communication system was analyzed and proposed. Adopting system dynamics method and the software, Vensim, several simulation experiments on the proposed model was carried out to analyze the factors that influence the movement of academic data in scholarly communication. [Results/Conclusions] The double-circle movement mode of academic data in the scholarly communication system was proposed. The simulation results of the system showed that the strongest factors on increasing the output of academic data were adjusting the input initial value of academic data and the input conversion rate of the system. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the volumn of basic academic data, to create a stable system to balance the development of both formal and informal scholarly exchanges, eventually to promote the movement of academic data in scholarly communication in a great value.
